Delivery
We supplied all screen graphics for the conference, graphics producer and image director for the broadcast.

We produced the opening film, vignettes, still images, hologram graphics, jumpers, transitions, etc.

Haltenbanken developed the logo, color palette and pattern for the Vestlands conference. This became the basis for our further work.

Opening movie

We produced a film for the opening of the conference. It was produced for 9 different screen surfaces that worked in tandem - main screen, side screen, TV screens and hologram screens.

Opener

We produced main vignettes for the conference for different screen surfaces, stream, main screen, side screen, and in different lengths based on needs.

Theme profiles

The different themes throughout the conference were illustrated by different color variations.

Theme vignettes

Each conference theme area had its own profile, vignette, color palette, etc.

Preik

Preik is a segment during the conference where good conversations can flourish in a more intimate format on stage. We have produced both the vignette and resting image for the segment for a number of years, and have made some adjustments each year.

Hologram

Several segments during the conference made use of hologram graphics, such as here where the presenter is talking about Kodak, and a camera hovers in mid-air above him.

Break room

When the lectures and the program in the auditorium went to break, it was switched to a break studio in the foyer. We produced the vignette for the break studio.

Dynamic supring

The suprings were produced dynamically on a graphics machine, so that names and titles were taken from a spreadsheet. This made it possible to make last-minute changes instead of having everything rendered in advance.

Various graphics

We also produced a large number of miscellaneous graphics, such as a countdown clock for the conference itself, coverage and display of callers/camera production, butterfly for the stream, scrolling text at the end, to name a few.

Earthrise

The conference ended with an appeal from the stage, as well as an animation of the 1968 earthquake. This was played on a hologram screen, which gave the illusion that it was floating in mid-air next to the person on stage.

Delivery
We provided video director for both the IMAG production in the auditorium and for the streaming.

We produced animations for social media, openers for the conference, background loops, lower thirds, intros, etc. We also produced the backdrop in the studio, and a bumper as a transition between the studio and the hall.

Haltenbanken developed the logo, color palette and pattern for the Vestlands conference. This became the basis for our further work.

Planning

In the initial phase, we get an overview of the assignment and all the content to be produced. We use different tools for planning, and monday.com is one of them. Here we set up lists of everything that needs to be created, with information about length, file formats, resolution, etc. so that we can easily find the information we need later in the process.

Opener

We produced the main opener for the conference in 3 different lengths: 15sec, 30sec and 50sec.

The background loop

The main visual of the conference is a collage combining East and West. Various recognizable elements from both sides of the globe were put together into a common image. Drag the slider on the image to see the before and after editing of the background loop.

Preik

Preik is a segment during the conference where good conversations can flourish. We produced both an opener and a background loop for the segment.

Origami

Origami was an essential part of the graphics, which is why we produced animations that folded in and out the presentations of the speakers. It was also used as animations in and out of VTs/videos.

Social media

We produced intro/outro packages for social media videos. These were superimposed over the videos that were published, to keep the overall profile consistent. We produced the graphics in different formats for the different platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).

I believe in Western Norway

The final film of the conference was a tribute to Western Norway, where a few famous faces from Western Norway showed up to give their opinion on the region. We made about 50 recordings and edited them together with various submitted recordings.

Live studio

Even before the first speaker took the stage, the live broadcast from the studio started. Throughout the day, a total of 35 guests visited the conference's live studio in Grieghallen, led by host (and Executive Director of Operational Services) Siren Sundland.

Deliverables
We produced teasers for airport advertising, social media videos, conference openers, background loops, lower thirds, intros, etc.

We also provided video director and photographer for the IMAG production and streaming.

Haltenbanken developed the logo, color palette and pattern for the Vestlands conference. This became the basis for our further work.

Ahead of the conference, we produced a 10-second teaser that was shown on all the big screens at Bergen Airport Flesland.

Different display surfaces

All the visuals we produced for the conference were tailored to the relevant display surfaces, whether it was for the main canvas in the center of the stage, the LED panels on the sides or for the streaming production.

A fictional world

The Vestlands conference gathered knowledge from several parts of the world. The main background image of the conference was therefore composed of several well-known landmarks from the major cities visited; New York, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Boston, Seattle, Hong Kong.

A seamless journey

Each city visited for the conference was to be introduced with a separate opener. The transition from the main conference background image into each city should feel seamless, and by using animation we created a short journey from Bergen (where the conference took place) to the city in question.

High level of detail

All the graphics we provided had to work in a large hall and in a large format, so the level of detail was kept at a high level. For example, the textures of the globe were sourced from NASA and produced in 6K.

Safari

The music used in the opening video and teaser for the conference was composed by Ian Post. The song is called Safari, and is part of the album Wildlife.

"Safari" is Swahili and means "journey". During the Vestlands Conference 2019, many journeys were made around the world to gain knowledge and experience. Maybe that's why the song fit the setting so well?

Preik

Preik was a separate segment of the conference where we wanted to create a more intimate setting. There were both talks and debates in the middle of the stage, and the graphics we produced were literally the backdrop for the good conversations.

For Preik we made vignettes and resting images.

Camera production

We also produced graphics for the stream (lower thirds and background graphics). Thanks to Bright Norway for the assignment of doing the video direction on both the IMAG and the stream.

Delivery
We produced 2D and 3D graphics for the Vestlands Conference 2018, including background images, intros and vignettes.

The Valley & Western Norway

The Western Norway conference "Time of Change: The Valley & Vestlandet" was held in Grieghallen on March 15, 2018.

The Vestlands Conference has been organized since 2002 and is an initiative from Sparebanken Vest to bring together industry people who are interested in the development of Western Norway. It brings together leaders and opinion formers in business, politics, administration, research, education, culture and other areas of society.

Planning

The content we produced had to playback on both LED screens and projector sceen, each with their own resolutions in pixels and sizes in meters. In the planning phase, we therefore set up an overview of the different surfaces we were producing content for so that all the material would play together. Bright playbacked the content in d3 Technologies, giving us all sizes and a full breakdown of each pixel.

Vestlands Conference 2018 - Intro

Digital titles

The opening vignette of the conference was designed in a 3D world of computer chips and electronic components. The computer chips contained both the titles of the talks and/or the speakers for the conference.

The main poster for the conference plays on the conference theme: "Time of Transition: The Valley & Western Norway". The image connects Silicon Valley with Western Norway, by way of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Several photographs were assembled into a collage of both Silicon Valley and the West Country. Drag the slider above to see the before and after completion of the image.

Preik

Preik was a segment that stimulated discussion and debate. It was a segment that differed from the rest of the conference, in form and content.

Animation in and out of Preik

3D production

"Preik" was a segment of the conference that needed to be slightly different from the main picture. There was a lot of talk about technology, and the graphics had to reflect this. Technological components were produced in 3D and a circuit board became the background of the segment.

Easter eggs

In our industry, it has almost become a standard practice to leave some secret clues in the products you make. These can be images or hidden messages, or just fun internal references - and there were some easter eggs in this production too.
